I have not driven a 660 so can not talk about power diffence, but a couple points I keep in mind when shopping. I live in maine so the FI is really nice, just jump on an go. no waiting for the quad to warm up. The other big item is EPS. You don't think you need it (and you really don't) however once you have it, you'll know it's the only way to go.
I spent a good amount of seat time on a new 700 and must say they are much improved over the 660, but I'm still holding out for a while before buying one to see if any issues develop. Us Yamaha guy do give them a good test, so I'm sure if there is a weak link, it will appear soon. Alot of guys are running 29.5" Outlaws bone stock and have done well so far. They will certainly show if there is a weakness in the EPS or drivetrain with those meats!!!
