So whos snowchecking

I'm pulling the trigger. Putting my sled back to stock and giving it to my mom. I'll have a used MPI kit complete with clutching, gauges and gearing available on here soon. Got a price of 15,250 out the door for the LTX LE.

I couldn't wait any longer and pulled the trigger yesterday on the LTX-LE. This will be my first brand new sled since 2006 so I'm really pumped. Went with the red/white color combination.

Plan on upgrading the track to a 1.5" lug Ripsaw II for some added traction since I don't run studs.
Vroom-Vroom! :sled1:

To be honest I am really considering LTX LE over the rtx Le for the extra track length, my dealer said he would not charge me more for the LTX so I think I will go with that

I talked to three people that I know and trust that have actually ridden the new SW and they all told me to go with the 137" on the LTX with the power that this sled puts out for the conditions and area that I ride in. If I was always riding tight and twisty trails groomed trails I would have chosen the RTX but where I do most of my riding (U.P. of Mich.) I'm going with the LTX. I'm not planning on doing much off trail, if I was I'd go with the XTX.

Yes I agree,I do 95% on trail. I am pretty sure the extra 8 inches will not effect handling ,but it will affect bridging bumps. Plus, that's just more track and studs on the snow helping me to propel forward

Done! As of noon today I am done and excited for winter 2016/2017. LTX LE in Red. It is going to be a long summer.

Anyone remember this guy from the 2 stroke side? He did all the billet heads etc. for the 2 stroke Vipers. I saw his comment under the Snowtech article on the Sidewinder:

For me, snowmobiling began in 1972. Since then, I have designed custom parts, billet cylinder heads, billet clutch and chassis parts and hold national records and class championships as a result of my contribution to the sport and specifically snowmobile racing. I left the sport in 2002 but continue in automotive racing at the professional level. After extensive study of the finer details of the sidewinder engine package, I am absolutely without words to express my disbelief in what Yamaha Motor Company has made available to the RV market place, starting here with the SideWinder snowmobile. The engine is clearly, over-designed for a single RV product use and that is great news for winter sports enthusiasts! The level of detail in engineering, materials of construction both with the engine itself but equally with the turbo, packaging and most importantly “the engine management technology”, leveraged here…is without equal in the snowmobile industry. This engine is a WORK OF ART. I never in my life expected this! Wow…my god, wow! Bravo Yamaha! May the brand loyal blind who have or may have come to dislike Yamaha for some of the past…WAKE-UP quickly. I’m officially BACK-IN-SNOWMOBILING for 2017!

Troy...Thanks for posting that. Good find. I had Mark's billet Mega Power cylinder head's on my custom 780BB Viper (Avatar pic) and they were a work of art. That's a pretty lofty endorsement of the new SW from him.
