For the ski go with the mountain skis. Same as the VK professioonal and the venture I think. Just bought a pair for my 04 rx1 mountain and paid 230$ canadian tax included. Transfer your grab handle and carbide runner on them is a direct fit. Its much cheaper than other aftermarket. Stocker where 5 inch wide and the oter 7 inchs.

Those wouldnt be of any help I'm afraid... Problem isent snow coming up from the hole but water dripping from the exhaust and spreading outside and inside the tunnel.

Agreed. I wasnt planning on sinking money in to the Phazer so soon... but can someone who had upgraded give me a deal on their Mnt Lite Skis? I will start a thread on this I think.
I measured mine, only 5" wide.
BTW the temperature yesterday was fairly cold, not wet snow. I would say -13 to -18C, the Phazer runs hot, makes it wet snow. But I mean that was a full day of riding, 10:30 am to 5:00 pm. But at the end I couldnt fit my feet under the pegs anymore. Doh. Still a blast to ride though. Good pectorial workout.

BV1 my ski's measure 6 1/4 inches wide, amazing difference between stock a/c skis and these the best flotation by far for my machine. After about 15 mph my machine will start to lift on the fluffy stuff, and really great for carving as well, the ski if you look at the bottom of it almost has some kinda of weird upside down V hull design.

Its funny. Yamaha makes the hole, and then sells a cover for it. What is the purpose of.. the hole?

I was told to keep the exhaust cool... all the 4 strokes have open tunnels but not around the seat as the Phazer does.

Swamps, good skis not doubt, I have them on my XCR, but they aren't really rugged, they've taken quite a beating luckily the bottoms are replacable.
By having the snow hit the exhaust, it cools the pipe thus allowing the exhaust gases to flow faster, some weird thermodynamics involved that I don't fully understand.

I've had the tunnel panels on order for awhile, but have yet to receive them. From the looks of the snow build up, I'll be fabricating something else in addition to the panels to divert the snow yet keep the exhaust cool.
