OK i change the oil for the first time on my warrior what a PITA by the way. change the gear case fluid. And figure Ill swap the plugs out. Take the clip off of them and try to pull the black things up, NO GO. Two of the four wont even spin the other two I can get to go in cirlces but not up. I didnt want to use a screw driver and crack some stuff either. WD-40??

it shouldnt be a problem to pull the coils off the plugs, you sure you are trying to get the coils off?? They are the soft rubber boots down into the cylinder, I wouldn't be worried about cracking them but ripping with a screwdriver would be inevitable.

yeah they are like mega stuck. Ill spray some WD down on them first. The engine block just has a lot of scale on it and thats why thy are stuck

Spray some lube down around there and let it sit, they will be snug, but you can pull them off.

yeah sprayed lube down there and let it sit and everything. Well got three off really no problem, the forth was an issue. Ended up break the top off and tried to drill it out and pry it out with screw drive!!!!!!!!!

Well its stuck. The only way I see to get it off now is to take the head cover off which doesnt seem to be that hard. ANy ideas before I go this route? And if I do go that route anything I should know about taking the head over off. Looks like just diconnecting the hose and the six bolts.

You broke the top of what the coil or spark plug? I am not sure about taking the valve cover off. If you do though I would make sure to replace the gasket.

yeah there is a black plastic pice on top that get plugges into and that connects to a rubber boot that goes down to the plug. Snapped the top hard black plastic piece off. After that I tried drilled it out, prying it out and pulling it out with plyers will not budge. Needless to say i started to get the valve cover off and one of the tubes that goes into the block for coolant the bolt was stripped. Needless to say Im throwing in towel its going in.

Yea it seems to be going from one problem to the next for you. I have never had a issue taking the coils off just pulled with a twist and off they come. Keep us posted.

For guys in the future so this does not happen to oyu....... I changed mine on my Apex (very similar set up btw to this young man's RX1 here) and they were very snug like his were. I mean very snug. Didn't want to come out. DO NOT FORCE ANYTHING -- YOU DONT HAVE TO!!!!

Solution:
Spray some penetrating oil like WD-40 down there and let them sit if they are stuck. Then work at them gently, spinning them first. Do not force them or you will break the plastic piece over the spark plug cap that connects to the boot that sticks down in there. The rubber boot can develop some adhesion in there to the walls, like glue. You need to get some penetrating oil down in there to free everything and move it around. It's not easy, but it will work. And of course everything is cramped in there, making it tougher. Just be patient and take your time. And again, don't force them out or pry at them with tools, clamps, vice grips, etc as doing so can/will equal a lot more work for you if anything breaks. The young man above now has to replace a section of the spark plug wire, and the plastic piece and boot. That is costly and more work than just replacing plugs so is highly recommended to not do that.

Just my $.02.....

yeah its going in tonight. The sled is in great shape and I think it was taken care of. But I think Maintenence was not taken care of. After looking at three of the plus they had been in there a while. I know they say with 4 jokes you dont have to change them but I still like to once a year.

Yeah that little plug, man. I had an 07 nytro and never had an issue like this. But hey I guess this is what you get when you buy used.

Mike that is what I did. Sprayed Wd in there and let it sit over night. The other three worked out just like you said. I tried tapping it with a rubber mallet etc. This thing just wouldnt go. But I think this is what happened either the spark plug rusted permanently to the boot or the boot melted into the walls of the head cover. I am thinking the latter.

I get it, and trust me, I was there. It's the rubber boot adhering to the metal wall down in the spark plug hole, at least in my case and others. I'm sure yours too, but could be wrong.

I was able to free mine with a lot of patience and even more work, and did so without breaking anything. I'm sorry yours worked out differently. They can get very very stuck in there, mine were too. Mine had been in there 5 or 6 years and were stuck, very stuck -- and yours were in there even 4++ years longer than mine probably.

Thing is, neither one of us probably even had to change the plugs. I only did to put the cooler plugs in there for a tad more hp. These 4 strokes don't go through plugs, they are like an atv or car.
