My spedo is doing crazy things like showing a speed at a stand still??? Could a weak battery cause this problem?Any input would be great.

just below secondary is the pickup (on the jackshaft), try taking a rag and wiping it clean. lost of dust and debris come off the belt, and dirty it up.

How old is the battery? I saw the same symptoms on my 03 RX-1 after 4 seasons on the original battery. Replaced it and speedo was fine after that.

Also check the drive shaft bearing on the clutch side. If the bearing is bad enough, the pickup can screw up causing the speedo to do funny things - these bearing are prone to go but easy to change.

When I bought my 04 Warrior the battery was dead and had to be jump started. The speedo and the tach went wacky. Speeds at sit still and the tach would sweep all around while riding. I had a new battery put in before I bought the sled and that fixed it right up.
