I was thinking of changing my speedo bearing to be on safe side before our last trip in march. Is it pretty easy and could any body give step by step instruction. I sure would appreciate it. Thanks.
easy.remove belt, remove secondary, speedo gear, bearing plate.go under in tunnel and remove 2 screws allen/star bit can't remember, slide bearing out,put new bearing in,reverse steps to install.allen/star screws are small just look real close, spray some pb blaster on before just in case.screws are on the shaft.

Need to worry about positioning in the same exact spot? Or just make sure no end play on shaft?

You should put some loctite on the 2 set screws on the speedo bearing when replacing.

tighten the 4 bolts that hold the bearing in place before you install the 2 small torx screws on the coller, this way the bearing is "put" into place with the retainer before you tighten the set screws
