2005 rs rage
Hi i have a 05 rage. Its about 5 degrees out i start the sled and my cluster douse not work after about 5 minutes it came on is this normal. this is the second time this has hapend.

Whoa I misread that I thought he said 5 seconds not five minutes. No this is not normal at all you must have a bad connection I would check the harness behind the cluster first. Another questin when it happens were the headlights off to? Sorry about that dude I misread it.

head lights were on every thing seemed fine just the speedo cluster had a huge delay

all my connections seem fine. I unpluged each one just to make sure. has this happend to any one else. it seems like the cluster is frozen in exstreem cold.

Do you have a friend you can switch speedo pods with just to see if its the pod itself? Is there lots of moisture in your gauge?

no moisture that i noticed. dosn't hapen often just when its realy cold like

Mine has done this but not for 5 minutes more like 30 seconds at the most. I still dont think it something to worry about though as long as it comes on when your ready to ride and does not do it while your riding I would not worry about it too much.

Yupp, had same thing with my 06 Vector, same guage pod, i had lotta moisture in the 10 pin connector that plugs onto the pod.took hair dryer to the end of the connector, shot a little silicone spray in the end, not alot, plugged back in, i see the rubber boot was not in place, i contribute that to be alot with it.Make sure the boot fits up snuggly around the connector. Its tight, need some little girly fingers, lol.Mines never done it again...

Funny-same thing happened on our 2005 Vector this weekend. I tried starting it when it was 5 below, no headlght, speedo pod dead. Tried later, everything worked. Next day, no speedo at first, then it started working. If it was the bearing on the speedo side, would it just stop working all together? We have never replaced or greased that bearing. Just read about that here on TY, not mentioned in the manual or by my dealer. Open to any suggestions! Thanks much, Steve

It happens quite regularly on my 05 Vector, usually the morning after running through a lot of powder the day before. Once it starts to warm up everything comes on. The colder it is outside the longer it takes to come on. At minus 30 C it takes at least 3 to 4 minutes. Mine has done this since new and has 8500 miles now with no issues.
