I know everyone says that yamahas digital speedo is off... but myself i havnent noticed it... ive never been radared!!
I compared my speedometers trip meter to two other sleds i rode with and they were all dead on.... we didnt try side by side testing but overall think they are close...When i had my viper i passed my buddys zr800 his speedo read 110 and mine read 115 and i had to be doing atleast 5mph faster than he was judging by how fast i went my him!
I guess what im asking is ....Is it just over 100mph that they get way off?

From what I recall, and I lurk a fair bit, since no snow here.
Speedo seems to be about 11% high [+or - a bit] vs radar depending on conditions.
So at 40 you would be out about 4 and at 110 you would be out 12
Several posted it was their experience that it was only the speedo, and that the odometers were quite accurate.
I may be wrong on this, but i seem to recall that the dream meter and the odometer have seperate sending units so the mods that people have been doing on the speedo sending unit does not affect the odometer.

I think the odometeris spot on. A friend, on a Polaris and Me on my Warrior, compared numbers a couple of weeks ago After a trip on that day, both odometers read 146.5 miles. I could not beleive they could be exact after a trip close to 150 miles. As for the speedometer it seems to be off more % wise the faster you go. At 50 on his Polaris, I was showing 52. At 100 (which is harder to do running sise by side) I was showing 106. But Polaris also reads high like all snowmobile speedometers do, But Yamaha is off by a higher percentage.

Speedo's are out no question, I have had two RX-1's and I would say they are at about 10% high. Don't kid yourself that it is going as fast as speedo says.

Consider this: When you're riding, how much does your track slip? Its got to slip ~10%, which is about how far off the speedo reads from radar.
