And the only word to describe it is WOW. It is NOTHING like my RX-1. In a straight line race the apex pulled away slowly and on a slight packed hill they were about even race wise. But its when you come to a nice climb to see the RX-1s weakness. The apex seemed to pull up every hill i pointed it at, with no problem.

Was with an TRX, my ekholm RX, and the Apex mountain with only a hundred or so miles on it. Put 60 miles on today. I just had to let you guys know that i envy you and would LOVE an 08 apex for next season. It does exactly what i want it to do. My RX sometimes throws me off track if i hit someone elses track in a tight spot and i have trouble getting it back on line, but the apex was very easy to maneuver and keep a good line. Seemed to do amazing. Also found a nice jump, just about went vertical. I love it! A stock apex is all i would ever need!

Yes, I felt the same. I was able to demo one last year at the Big Dawg Shootout. What a machine. A very responsive and predictable machine. Yamaha sure did the right thing w/this. I will not be getting a new machine any time soon, but if I was, the Apex it would be.

Did you notice much of a power difference?

Is the Apex easier to roll into sidehills or tippy on the flats?

I'd love to ride one as well but haven't had the chance. I'd also like to ride a new Phazer mountain lite. I'm hoping that next year they'll build a sled I can't stand to be without?

The stock Apex doesnt get the credit it deserves. It flat out works and is very user friendly. Eric

it sidehills for you, basically. Tipping it over is easier than ever in the powder, but on the trail it is awesome. i loved it on the trail. i am 6' 162lbs. The power difference on the trail isnt much, but in the powder the apex just feels lots more powerful. The response is amazing.

This is an apex with only a hundred miles. Not even broken in yet and it ran like mad.

I noticed a power difference. Or at least it was more powerful than my sled before the hairdryer. ;)! Definitely easier to manuver and as I said earlier, much more predictable. I would buy one in a second. But there is rumor of a new 40th aneversary sled coming for 08. I guess we'll see.

Phazer mtn lite was nice and easy to ride, just not enough power.

i was pretty close to a 900 RMK 166 for next season and the ONLY problem i had with a 2 stroke is just that, its a 2 stroke. i like my electric start and turn the key and go without worrying about pouring oil in.

The apex is An awesome sled. The 2 stroke guys that i ride with say it doesnt compare at all to theirs (XRS, 1000 SDI, M7, M8, M10, 05 800 Doo) but i would put my money on the apex being a very close contender to them.

I have ridden with all the those sleds and rider abilty is what seperates them more then sled ability.

Now I'm not talking about sitting at the bottom of the biggest hill you can find and holding it to the bar to see who cant put up the highest mark I'm talking about real riding. Like when you come out of the trees and with almost no track speed you have to grab the mountian bar, lay it hard over on its side and cut it up hill in 18" of fresh powder.

Time after time I'm riding back down to pull out the stuck 2-smoke !!!

lol

hmmm...never thought about it but I guess your right. I've pulled out two stuck 2-strokes this year---------A cat and a dragon.

07 Apex mtn SE
03 RX mtn totalled

Well mostly what im talking about is climbing, some straight up and some of them are a little more technical, but i know what you mean. I just hope it can climb near those other sleds. it seems to me like it should and could. Its got plenty of power!
