Went up to Tug Hill for the week and knew it was going to be real cold so I threw on a set of SPI grip heaters...at -17 never had cold hands and had to turn them down, I think Yamaha just used crap elements this is the second sled I have cured just by changing the elements.
Did you reconnect the spi elements to the factory wiring? or did you connect them directly to the battery with the switch provided?

To factory wiring...they work great, I have RSI heaters on my 07 both work great and after about 10 minutes of riding I have to turn them down to 3 bars.
