I bought an 06 attak this spring with 224 original miles on it. The guy bought it used it once and parked it in the garage. My question is What service do i need to do to it being 4 years old and now only having 325 miles on the whole sled. I want to rid the wheels and put new bogies on it and dump the junk factory wheels. I am putting an electric shock on it. But what else do i need to do to it to make it ride ready for the next season

Pull the rear skid and have the beef up kit done on the suspension arms at half baked coatings. they are a paying advertiser on the site.
They will reinforce your front pivot arm and powder coat the rear arm and link. Your front arm will eventually crack. The arms from 05 to 07 or were not built strong enough. Yamaha changed their design to a stronger arm in 08.

I now (thanks to TY members) pull my skid every spring. Last spring I had the shock revalved because I'm big. Greased the wheels and changed the hyfax.
This spring I had to change 6 wheels out. Sent the arms to HalfBaked to get beefed up and powdercoated. Hyfax,Greased rest of wheels. Had to make new brackets that bent outward for mid wheel kit Easy to do once skid is out. I need my son to get it back in though.
Changed oil and filter.

Do you replace them with aftermarket ones or the new(er) Yamaha ones with the replaceable bearings in them?

check the anti mix. Some of the sleds that year were shipped with 100% anti (my sled). Put in the CR10EK plugs.

Why does everyone say "junk factory wheels" I've got over 7500 miles on the factory wheels, and have never had a problem with them. That seems well engineered to me? Although I did put better looking ones on this year, but thats another issue.

I picked up my 2007 Attak GT under similar circumstances. Good find!
All I'd do is run some Sea Foam through the sled and change the oil. Then put a battery tender on for the summer and put 'er to sleep!
Why do you say crappy bogey wheels? Mine are still in great shape! Were your in poor condition? If not, I wouldn't worry about the wheels until they wear out. Then put the newer ones in that have replaceable bearings.
Good luck with the sled and congrats. But your best move was finding this site to help you to maintain your Apex. TY is the best!

Kevin at Port Yamaha set me up with Yami improved ones. Replaceable bearings. Just bolted them back on.

Thanks.
I am also looking to add the 4th wheel at the very back of the skid, I assume Port carries/sells this kit as well?
Is it a good recommended upgrade?

They aren't well liked because they don't have removable bearings that can be replaced. You have to replace the entire wheel.
The wheels themselves are no better or worse than any other manufacturer's wheels. In reality pretty much all wheels that are on today's snowmobiles are made by a company called PPD.

I put the 4th wheel kit on mine just for piece of mind if one of the wheels fails back there.

Patiently waiting to get my arms back from Half Baked Coatings. Should be here by the end of the week, and can't wait to get it back together. Kevin up at Port Yamaha set me up with 6 of the new style idler wheels and 2 rear axle wheels (and a few bearings for the upper wheels). That guy knows his stuff. All 6 idler wheels had the rubber seperated from the wheels. A couple bearings went out on my last ride of the season, and ended up tearing up the track on my '06 Apex RTX. Decided to put a new Cobra track on it. Hope I like it more than the original Ripsaw track
