For some reason this Ulmer clutch kit install just doesn"t seem to be going right today. Primary is done and I have a question on the secondary.
When looking at the sheave that holds the buttons and spring and to which the helix attaches onto the secondary clutch. If the 3 holes on the outer lip are located at 12 o'clock high, is the spring hole that would be at 1 o'clock the #1 position referred to in the manual and the spring hole located at 5 o'clock the #2 position?
If this is correct, then my next question is do I need to rotate the helix approximately 70 degrees counter clockwise before mounting it onto the studs (6/1 setting as per Mr Ulmer) (or am i misunderstanding the how the manual reads)?
My sheave does not seem to have any markings or castings to indicate anything.
thanks again.

The markings are there, just tough to see. One end of the spring in 6 (on the helix) other end in 1 on the sheave. Rotate the helix clockwise to line up the ramps and the holes on helix with the studs on the sheave.

Thanks Vox,
identifying the markings on the sheave is the issue. The helix is clearly marked. There is a very faint #1 looking symbol on the 1 o'clock positioned hole on the sheave but is is very faint and nothing else is showing up any place else. that is why i referenced the 12, 1 and 5 o'clock positions
thanks.

Thanks Shadow,
I did a search looking for this earlier and did not find it.
I couldn't remember who had posted it.
This is exactly what i need.
Ps: Yox, thanks again and sorry for getting your name wrong.
Now I'm off to reassemble the secondary and then mount the 5.7 pilots i just picked up from a buddy.

Hey Shaddow,
one more question.
Allen told me to use the 6-1 position for my settings.
The thread said/showed that the setting being used was a 6-3. I can identify the marking on the sheave in the pix as a "G" which I have. This is the #3 position. So how many holes going clockwise do I go to get to the # 1 position Allen mentioned. 1 or 2.
Thanks again and sorry for the questions.
