Viper

Yamaha's are NOT perfect, BUT I'll tell ya they are the LEAST likely to be on the back end of a tow rope...

I completely agree with this comment but I disagree with your previous one. I think it's very likely the Viper will meet Yamaha standards and I'd be shocked if its not more reliable than the other brands.

Been looking all over the ArcticChat and can't find anything about the chassis of the pro cross falling apart....just belts and chain cases so if Yamaha fixes this stuff then I don't really see any first year problems like Yamaha always have ;)!
Most are saying to change the skis and a few are running 5.7 ski doo ...but if you ride Yamaha you are use too this by now ...I'm sure there are other things to get it the way you would like it...but I don't see anything on chassis falling apart ;)!

Or anything on electricals failing or having problems......I will keep looking and searching ;)!

You won't find anything on Arctichat. They moderate out all the bad.
Here is where you'll find the honest issues:

Having a 2013 SP Limited turbo for this season I can say that the only issues I had was the clutch is way too hot and eats belts! The chassis gave me no issues. The ride was night and day above my 08 and 09 Nytros. If I didn't have the clutching issues I would be not be looking at the other sleds on the market.

Yamaha is more likely to spend money to do things better in the first place than spend it on warranty.
If Yamaha does have control or at minimun major input into QC/QA at Cat Cat will be the big winner if their products begin to rival Yamaha Quality.

Nobody has expressed the possibility that Yamaha may buy Arctic Cat. Just saying.

Aren't they giving free marshmellows and sticks for the campfires? :sled1: :-o

I do find this post kind of funny.
I have Yamaha Phazer now and there are more quality issues with this than any cat's I have ever had.
I'm not complaining becauase as with any brand, there are things you have to stay on top of.
I would not be too concerned about quality of the new Viper.

I have owned more cats than I can recall and never worried about pounding the $#!% out of them. You guys have me so worried about the damned subframes that I avoid railroads and road approaches. There are numerous foul ups with my xtx nytros design. The ice build up even with a block off is absurd. Will they cover my track or driveshaft when the get destroyed. Other then these issues I have loved it.

no...I think arctic cat will be bying yamaha engines and yamaha is no longer a sled maker...out of the sled makeing biss.

No.I think the Viper is a test in cooperation for the coming buyout.Call it a PreEmployment screening those who dont put their best effort into the effort will be kicked to the curb.Harsh but good for everyone and in the end I believe the people at Thief River Falls will have something to be deservedly proud of.A job for Yamaha that they earned.

Bingo. No way is Yamaha even considering buying Arctic Cat. I bet they make more money at the end of the day just selling engines to AC than they do building complete snowmobiles after all the expense of R&D, inventory controls etc... is taken into consideration.

i read thru HCS last night and i can't believe how problems like multiple belts blowing, clutches coming apart, chains breaking etc, etc, etc, are accepted and they have the balls to laugh at us (yamaha owners) about why we are questioning this merger. :o| :o| If my sled was like that i would dump it and go get another brand. that's the only way any company will listen to these types of problems, money talks. winter is way to short to be putting up with crap like that from a POS. i really don't care that my sled doesn't have 177hp but what i do care about is riding instead of being towed or sitting in a shop over and over again during a winter. My sled handles very well on the trails and i will put it up against any of the new AC's. one thing is for sure when i go riding i don't have to wonder if it will hold together for the day or even year after year.

I really hope the Viper is going to be a good sled ;)!
