Started flashing c1600 and c1603 codes on a 200 mile trip, good old yamaha put the seat on the handle bar warmer fuse so when your seat fails your handle bar and thumb warmers quit too,had to unplug the seat change the 20 amp fuse and keep going.

Heated seat failures are very common. Yes, unfortunately the seat is on the handlebar and thumb-warmer circuit. If you search heated seat here on TY there are quite a few threads to read. Bottom line is another bad design by Arctic Cat but there are things you can do when/if you repair it to make it last. It's a PIA to do but it will correct the design defficiency. I've done 3 of them already.

Lol more like PIA for dealer. After paying over 20k the dealer would be first stop. Sucks though while on a ride up north.

will find out how good the dealer is tonight, is the heated seat covered under the yes warranty?

Just keep in mind IF they (dealer) do nothing different other than install a new seat heater pad (or maybe fix a broken wire), it WILL fail again. Typically they last maybe 1-2 years. The wires flex pretty much right below the control chip and after flexing enough times as you bounce down the trail, one or more wires will break. Game over. So installing a new pad will make it work, at least until it breaks again. The "permanent" fix is to support the wires near the chip, and then change the factory wires to some super-flexible wire (available at McMaster Carr) which can flex millions of times and not break. It takes some work but it's the only way it will not happen again.

1st year warranty it will definitely be covered. If its going through yes warranty it is dependent on the dealer. Either way these sleds are too much money to have stupid S$!' Like this too fail. The cat side of this entire sled needs too go. Yamaha has fallen in the litter box and dont seem too wanna get out

How hard is it to get the seat cover off to get to the element

Not too bad. Just pull the staples from rear of seat going forward. Don't have to pull seat cover all the way off. Just pull staples far enough up so you can get to pad. Of course, that means you need a good staple gun (can get at any good hardware store) and some stainless staples to put it back on. Just take your time, it's not rocket science. You can see how far up I removed staples in this pic. Just roll seat cover up out of way. You can also see where the hole in the foam is where the wires go through and the pocket in the foam where the control chip sits.
The design error is that the wires flex right there and eventually break (one or more). So I changed where they flex and what is flexing. Can't have them flexing right at control chip where they turn down into hole in foam. Will break every time after a while. Prevent them from flexing there and change factory lead wire (which is junk) to some really good wire (that's made for flexing without breaking - (Continuous-Flex Wire, https://www.mcmaster.com/catalog/126/908).
