Hi I have been looking through other posts and at the star suspension site (with no luck due to it not being in English) but I would like to do the 128 kit but I would like it to be a 136 does anyone know if they sell the xtensions to make it into a 136 or if I have to buy a 128 to 136 from somewhere else. Also if anyone has any opinions on doing this it would be appriacated. last thing is I see a lot of the xtx riders are having limiter strap issues with this kit. Is this also an issue on the shorts? If so do I need to send my shocks into them also. Any help would be great

Buy extensions from Tracks USA to convert from a 121 to a 128, then buy the star suspension 128 relocate kit. There is a member on here who has done it and say its great. YOu will also need to buy a tunnel extension from Tracks USA.

I did the 128" Star relocate on my 08 RTX and now have 2000 miles on it. So far I'm very happy with the results and have had no problems with the suspension. I also installed the Hygear Dual Rate spring with the crossover option on the center shock which compliments the relocate. Installing a rail extension kit and a 136" track with the relocate shouldn't cause any additional problems although I would add another set of idler wheels toward the rear to reduce hyfax wear.

shadow44 so does the setup you said above put me at 136" inch mark then? just double checking that I am understanding right. Grizz have you had any issues with your limiter straps like the xtx guys are having

Re: 136
I think there's some confusion between the 128" and XTX Star suspension kits. The 128" kit is for relocating the skid to accommodate a 128" track. It also decreases the track's approach angle which reduces the harshness of hitting bumps. You can install both the appropriate length rail extensions and the Star 128" relocate kit together to accommodate a 136" track or install just a 136" rail extension which will leave the approach angle as is. The XTX kit is not a skid relocate kit but more of a shock relocate to soften the ride without bottoming out. The XTX is obviously harder on the shocks and limit straps with all the reports of failures. After 2000 miles with the 128" kit I have had no problems with shocks or straps and have nothing negative to say about the kit. I think the decreased approach angle and longer track is an excellent improvement over the stock setup. For trail riding I think the 128" is perfect and really don't see the need to go to a 136".

The problem with the shocks and straps on the xtx is that they were breaking before people put the star kit on, when straps wore through from rubbing or catching on track lugs they break and cause the front suspension to drop down and cause rear shock to flip over, it can happen to any 09-13 nytro xtx regardless if star kit is installed or not,

Shaddow, not sure of the difference between the tipped up rails, I have never rode a sled with them, but it rides a lot better than when it was a shortie.
The pics I have are too large to post here and I can't figure out how to re-size them, but anyone wanting pics can PM me with their email address.
