Has anyone done the Star Suspension kit with Hygear revalving and shortening of the front shock on an XTX. I would like to do the Star kit in the offseason but don't see where Star offers a dual rate spring. I will probably have Hygear do the front and would prefer to have them do the rear as well but I don't know if they have any experience with the Star kit.

Hygear is generally familiar with the Star kit, but they basically said that if the Star kit is in your skid, Robert @ Star should be who you work with on shock/spring mods from that point. I asked specifically about this when I was looking into getting my front shocks done, thinking that a dual-rate in the center wouldn't be a bad idea, and that's the answer I received. I decided to leave my skid shock/spring setup as-is (Star revalves on both, BRP spring swap on the center, as per Star) because it works pretty well for me.

just curious but, why wouldn't you just get it all done by the same guy....seeing as he designed and built the kit??? by the way it works very well and worth the money for sure.

I would get it done by Star. I would actually prefer it as it is his kit. I would also like dual rate springs which I didn't think Star offered, or at least I don't recall anyone ever stating they had dual rate springs with the Star kit

Robert doesn't recommend a dual rate on the center shock... He said it adds progression and that you don't want that once the kits in... I order my kit last Friday... No revalve tho as I don't have the time to be down... To many trips planned

Awesome. I am just trying to make the rear suspension as plush as possible. Thanks for the replies

The Wife's XTX has a Star, 2nd ride out on it last Saturday & Tug Hill's trails were pretty mogul'd up.
I'm a bigger guy & with it set for her pretty plush (not a lot of adjustments done, OEM parts / no re-valve), it does have Hygear spring spacers and them set to medium it actually didn't bottom out to bad and rode well.
I was surprised knowing the set up.
