Was gunna be a good going today but I stopped at the gas station to fill up and to his point everything was working fine. Went to start and no go. Fooled up my day. Fuel pump kicks in but turn the key ti start and all i get is a click. I checked the battery terminals and even.put booster cables cause i thought it may be a faulty battery but no go. I crossed out the starter relay and still didnt turn over.
Im not getting any codes so whats the problem. Really starting to get fed up with the 4 stroke. Seems like they cant handle cold weather like Two stroke.

Somebody help me before i drop it off at the scrapyard!

This exact situation happened to a friends apex yesterday. No codes, fuel pump was priming, and just a click. It was -26 out. Did everything you did, I was even surprised there was no arcing out when I jumped the starter relay (+12v straight to the starter).

We ended up taking the starter off, bringing it into the cottage and setting it on the top of the fire stove for 5 mins and then I hooked the battery up to just the starter (kinda like a bench test) and it cracked free...worked great for the rest of the weekend..somehow he had moisture freeze it up. Oh and tapping on it didn't help at all.

Hope it helps.

Yea I'm really not sure how his happened either. It started fine the night before and then it sat overnight and wouldn't go in the morning.

Somehow moisture got in there and froze. The only thing I can think of is he normally keeps it in a unheated garage, and then when we loaded up for the trip we stored his sled in my heated shop. Maybe some water melted and got in there. And then once we got to the cottage it was cold again and froze it up..

After we fixed it, he probably started his sled 20 times throughout the course of the weekend and had no more issues. Give it a try! Only takes about 1/2 hours work and is free :)

Ah shoot, I was thinking about the apex still. I'm not sure about the Nytro, sorry for the confusion. Just try and get it in a heated garage for a day then and see what happens.

Replace your starter relay, it has moisture in it and will probably give you issues from here on out. Its a simple fix and fairly inexpensive.

He crossed out the starter relay and it still didn't go, and he also is hearing the click so I doubt that's the issue right now, but yes it would be safe to replace it too while he is working on it.

The problem with that is i dont have anywhere to work on it except a snow cover driveway with -30 or less degree weather lol. I feel comfortable dojng it if I just had somewhere to do it.

take the belly pan off and put a heat gun on it to see if it will crank over if it does then leave it on for a few hours to dry it out ...Or put it in the heat same where for 24 hours or so

Good luck!!!!!!

If you were riding and engine was warm, it shouldn't be frozen. brushes are worn or corroded. that is assuming you had jumpers to engine ground and starter wire. some people love to use starters like a fan on a hot day and wear them out, or even just overcranking 1 time can rear its head later
