Have an 06 apex and i'm trying to get it started. I do not have a gauge and was wondering if they will start without a gauge plugged in? When i turn the key the fuel pump kicks on like normal, and turns over fine. It is getting fuel, but i am not getting any spark. After cranking it a little the coil on cylinder 1 is warm and the rest are not. Any help is appreciated, thanks

You need to get the gauge to work... you might have a code that we can use to understand why it wont fire. Check all fuses and connections.

Thanks, checked the ignition coil plug in and turns out it doesn't work very good plugged into the gauge harness plug. Anyway switched it to the right one and now have plenty of spark, but still wont run.

So the gauge works now? And are you getting any error codes? It may be flooded from trying to crank it over. Is it sputtering or trying to fire? Does it just crank crank crank and you dont get anything?

I don't have a gauge is the problem, I got the sled wrecked and in pieces from when the head shim was removed. It doesn't seem to be trying to fire at all, I am getting some kind of aerosol out of the crank vent tube- have the air box off.

Found the problem that i figured it wouldn't be but ended up being. Only had around 30-60 psi in each cylinder, then did a leak down and was about 40-50% in each cylinder and could hear it all coming out of the crankcase.

Head gasket or you think there is further damage?

Any chance that the cylinders are just washed clean from trying to start the engine? Did you squirt some oil in each cylinder, and the rerun the test????

Have some pitting in the bottom portion of the cylinders. most of them are below where the piston even rides, but some- like one or two pits where the ring rides, so would hit and become worse if ran.
