Steering issues on Apex mountain

It isn't the price that is the concern here. It is fixing it and then forget about it forever. If you have to rip the thing down every season to fix 3 sets of cheap plastic bearings then what the heck.

Some sort of smooth even greaseless material that is much harder than plastic would do the trick.

Even a 2 piece sleeve with one time lube of the pieces would work. Just something to stop the slopping around once the plastic wears down.

I just got done talking to my dealer who sold me the sled, just got the new bushing in, when you trun the steering from right to left their is about just under an inch of play, the rest of the play is in the ball joints.

Much better, and this summer I am going to put in sealed bearings, and have a good friend of mine do it, I will make up two sets of these, and see how well they hold up next year, my dealer said he has done this to several of his sleds, and did it because of these plastic bushings, he agrees they will wear down easy.

But rolling the sled, or hitting the bars in an accident will not help with the plastic bushings.

I will try now and see how long I can make these new ones last, and ride my sled in a diffrent way, by turning after moving the sled first, as I have always done, but I did roll the sled once and it may have caused some of the problem.

so now without rolling it, I will see how many miles I will get.
