I sold my Phazer a year ago. Im considering a Nytro in the near future. My 2007 Phazer had steering so sloppy it was almost a safety issue.
Does the Nytro have the same steering and if so was it corrected in certain years?

Sloppy steering on your Phazer? Sounds like a maintenance issue. I'm not sure of the degree the steering systems are related, but there is nothing to worry about with the Nytro's...if you think there is, buy and install the OFT relocator. It comes with new oilite bushings that replace the stock plastic ones and make things much tighter.

Well depending on what year and what model of Nytro you are looking at they all have had their issues. The 08 had the old geometry. In 09 they changed the 121 and XTX to the newer geometry. 10 they changed the MTX to the newer geometry. All of the Nytro's come with cheap bushings in the front end. Most guys have upgraded to Oilite bushings. If the sled has many miles the front end will be loose. Look for one with the newer geometry and a plus if they have already upgraded the bushings. Even a bigger plus would be if they put a OFT steering relocater on it. Happy hunting.

they all have crappy ball joints that don't last over 1300 miles. They all have genaric bushings that wear all fast.Like mentioned above I would get the new geometry or plan on buying a skinz or z broz front end.

The A-arm ball joints used in the 2008 model were not that good. I seem to remember I managed to wear out three sets in one season of 4800 kilometers. They did an update to the 2009 model because my RTX SE is past 11000 kilomets and it has still got the original set with mimimum free play.
However, all of the steering rod ball joints seem to be low quality. I already replaced them once on the RTX SE and the MTX SE is up for replacement any day, even though it is used for powder riding with not very aggressive skis.

The phazers had some teething issues in 2007 that were solved in later yeas. The steering was notorious for being incredibly sloppy. I upgraded my bushings and still had issues. i was just wondering if the 2008 nytros were as problematic as the first year phazers. sounds like they were better from what u guys are saying.

if you dont mind spending some coin on aftermarket stuff 08 is fine but out of the box 09 is better. Im still wrestling with my 08 but tweaking is half the fun to me.... got er pretty close now i think.
