Steering

I can't imagine it being that difficult. Tip sled on its side, unhook spring from the front block, replace rear block, reverse and repeat for other side.

Yes I do have the plastic blocks up, I guess I should of said that. Was it a big job to install the 4 block adjuster?
I can't quite remember all the tips and steps now but if you do a lttle search you can find the inst. I would have raised the rear and put the blocks to soft and then took the long part of the spring off the mount (a pry bar will help here ;)! )and replaced the adjusters. My local dealer got them for me from Kimpex I believe for ~$50.

i have the x clickers on order. I been thinking about the shock up front, i believe its called the rebound shock. Right now I have it adjusted to the slowest setting to keep the COG the lowest. But if I adjusted it up will it help with the bottoming issue?

Yeah I think so - what you'll be doing is making the spring stiffer on that shock. I have mine set in the middle and the ski shock springs set the same but my springs/shocks are well worn and due for replacement.

ok i will try that. But would this adjustment make the sled more trippy? Again sorry for all the question, I am also from Newfoundland (East Coast) and after all the rain we are after having it is hard to get out and test these things.

No problem with the questions. Yes, raising the COG will make it more tippy but I'd say if you just tightened up the front skid shock w/o also adjusting the ski shocks that would set it up kinda like on a pivot and that would be worse. These adjustments are not diffifult but like you said testing is important to figure out a setting that feels the best.
The worse I find these sleds for tippiness is when you are two-up and just crawling around slowly. On the trails if you get into it and lean and shift your weight instead of just sitting back like on the older style touring sleds it is fun to drive and responds well.
Yamaha didn't do anyone a favour by putting 5" skis on these heavy 4 strokes. It's fine if on perfect hardpack trails but once you get into softer trails or a little bit of snow the ski is almost useless. I remember 1st when I got mine that I had to be very careful on the trail because if you just veered to the right a bit and got your ski off the hard trail you could easily loose control and drive right off the trail. I think a better ski was the best thing I did to improve the rideability of the VL and it even made it feel lighter.
