Step by step driver swap?

Remove the driveshaft and take it to your local sled shop and have them changed for 50 bucks .. They have to press them on and off.. that's what i did last week with wahl bros drivers. Perfect!!

Was looking for some information on this as well. I would like to buy a press so I can start swapping out the drivers myself, but don't know where to start. Need to know how big of a press and if I need any type of brackets to properly press them on.

We have a 20 ton press but same here I don't know if I need any special brackets or what have u to do it. The dealer where I keep my sled is attrocious and I hate bring stuff to him that's why I try to do it all myself

All the measurments are in the manual for the drivers.....if you have a press just press them off the shaft and press the new ones on the the measurments in manual.......DONE! I spray alittle of WD40 on the shaft when taking the old ones off but I don't think you would have to.

just use a peice of pipe... slide over shaft... push on pipe they will slide right off... the WD-40 or any lube will help... just make sure your mesurements are correct... and make sure your "anti-rachet" drivers dont kiss the front of your rails... once you've done it once you'll think of how easy this stuff is.. just my 2cents

take chain case apart.... pull out speedo bearing... mak sure track is loose... it slides right out... there is a thread on here that has step by step with photos...

Has anyone ever put these on without a press?

Yes, but I would not recommend it. Chances that you destroy the drivers are present by banging them on using a sledge and a steel tube, been there done that.

Would you mind adding your location to your user profile, it's a site requirement.

check ebay. you should be able to pick up an axle from a parted-out sled. use this axle for your new drivers and you still have your original for spare.
