Ok, I seached the TY tech section on ty.com, and couldn't find the step by step process on changing oil on an Apex / Attak. I've got an 07 Attak GT with 2,200 miles on it. Can someone either point me in the right direction, or provide a step by step how to with photos on the oil change?
Do I need to change oil every year? Should I let the dealer just do it, and fork out $100 each time? Should the filter be changed each year?
I can't believe I'm asking for assistance on doing an oil change... Crazy, but with these newer sleds, I don't want to have to take apart the entire sled to get to the filter, etc..
Thanks,
joel

if you have your owners manual it says right in there how often to change oil and filter and where the drain plugs are. if not check out the sticky threads on most asked questions to find how to do it. here is a thread if it comes thru.

Don't pay $100, its simple to do. Follow the owners manual as it provides step by step instructions. I put in new Amsoil each spring and then I'm ready to go next fall. The filter needs to be changed after breakin and then every 12,000 miles.

Although Yamaha may say that the filter only needs to be changed every 12,000 miles after the initial break-in, I still plan on changing my filter every year when I change the oil.
For the low cost of a new filter and the extra half hour or so of your time, why wouldn't you want to avoid mixing the old oil in the filter with the new oil?

just remember the internals don't get as dirty as a atv or dunebugy, i would change every 6.
What oil then would you recommend? I'm goin with 0-30 synthetic.. Filter? Fram or other ok? Which #?
Also, I plan on replacing the oil in my chain case.. 80, right?
I don't have a plethora of sled dealers to get stuff from, so if I can get same oil at a walmart, that'd be great.
