My broken chain case isn't covered under my expired warranty so i traded it in for a 600R.
They actually gave me a decent price for a grenaded chain case without opening it up so i jumped on the deal & i'll be riding tomorrow night.

I'm NOT leaving TY, but i currently do NOT own a Yamaha.

I'm sad & relieved at the same time!

Almost bought a BADAZZ 2020 1/2 XRS 850, but the coin landed on tails so 600 it is.

Will i own a yamaha again?
TO BE CONTINUED..........

P.s: I actually made the Sales manager give me a quarter to flip between the two sleds. Heads XRS, tails 600. It landed on tails......................so i took his quarter

Going to miss your post but I see more and more people doubting Yamaha Cat quality.

You will be missed. Don't go far or stay away long. I totally understand why a guy would try something else.

We know who you are and where you are so you can't disappear.
To me, it's all a matter of what tolerance a guy has for what goes on with, in this case, a snowmobile. Each of us has to figure out what or where our turning point is. As is evidenced all over TY, there are sooo many "issues" (to put it generically) with the YamaCat that it's not a stretch to understand why a guy would abandon ship and go elsewhere. Unfortunately, there's a big price to play, especially if there's a big tune involved. Each one has there own threshold for what's ok and what's not.
Many of us have had sleds that didn't have near this level of "attention" required to keep it running right. Is it worth it for the level of performance to continue to put up with it? Each of us gets to decide.
As far as I'm concerned, I'd ride with Steve any time no matter what he's ridin' or, for that matter, what I'm ridin'.

Thanks FLASH!
You hit it on the head.
This year i may be buying a new house so i won't have any wrench time or maybe even a garage to wrench in.
This winder needs wrench time. This played a HUGE part in my decision.

I'm having some sellers' remorse, but i think MOST will understand my bigger plan.

You better hang around here. You are at top of list of guys here I want to ride with someday and it doesn't matter what you are riding I know it will be FUN as Heck! Good luck brother ride ride ride.

Gee I wonder why?

Hey Steveo we are gonna miss the tests, whitty farcical humor, belt insight, musical Q&A and most of all the uncalled for sexual satire!

I’m keeping my fingers crossed your back into a Yamaha next season!

Congratulations on your newest family member!
:drink:

I just put a new Blue Flap on it to!
It looked so lonely sitting there on the pavement all alone like a dog in the window when you go to work.

God we are a pathetic bunch aren't we?

Good move Steve, these winders require a lot of attention to keep them running plus a lot of extra parts just to finish the sled where the factory dropped the ball. between poor skis and clutching and wheels, weak tri hub, chain and gear issues, bearing issues and poor suspension componients and bent shafts and a stock windshield that sucks and relay issues and ect...... ect....... the power is addictive and its easy to get cought up in trying to make it better when Yamaha should have done all that to start with. Seems there are much better sleds out there from Polaris and Ski Doo. the others may be less power but come with a much better platform.

Well maybe but its easy to get upset with one brand and assume everyone else's product is much better. I ve owned sleds from every manufacturer and sometimes 2 or 3 sleds from different manufacturers at the same time. I also live in area where we get snow, every single year, and have alot of time to ride. There is tons of sleds on the trail just about every time you go ride. I witness and hear about all the other issues going on with all brands and have experienced spending thousands on other makes to make up for all the short comings. The only 2 stroke sleds Ive owned that I wasnt nervous to go riding at night by myself were the cats Ive owned. Add 10-15hp to any 2 stroke and reliability is even less in most cases. You add 50-60-70hp to a winder and its a given your cost to operate is going to increase and your gonna have to spend a few more hrs in the shop going over things. A little bit of reading on this site and Ive learned what needs an eye kept on it and what should be replaced, most is DIY and cheap in the grand scheme of things. My favorite sled prior to this winder was my ski doo renegade. It was quick and rode and handled great, it also saw upwards of $5000 of warranty work within the first 2200 miles and due to the full shop at the local dealer my wait times on getting the sled repaired forced me to buy another sled as a spare or go without riding the winter. I also had purchased a new polaris that spent so much time in the shop it almost became a legal issue but my dealer was able to finally find the problem . I just recently sold an axys chassis polaris when I bought the winder. It was a fun sled but after 1400 miles I decided it wasnt for me. Tons of factory short comings on that one as well and I didnt want to spend the money on it. I am not bashing any of the other brands as they all have a place, and a person there best suited to.........just reminding that the grass isnt always greener on the other side. As humans we often get frustrated and jump ship wether it be a piece of equipment, car or truck , or a powersport toy. its a viscous cycle at the end of the day.

I'll miss your posts Steve. I'm surprised you didn't go with a 900t. Won't you have the the throttle on that 600 duct taped to the handle bar up in the county?

Thanks guys.
There is actually a lot more to my decision to buy a 600 then just the YamaCat issues.

1. I need a back up sled & my new/old girlfriend LOVES to ride
2. Buying a house so the extra cash will help
3. Buying a house so NO time to work on a sled
4. A 600 will keep me from HOPPING it up
5. I put on 4000 to 6000 miles a year so maybe i need a new sled every other year anyways.

I doubt any sled can handle the HIGH HARD miles i put on my sleds. All my friends admit, i'm just rough.
Hell, even when i dance, the girls get Black & Blue. I like to do the "BUMP".

I had a 550 mile day planned next week.
No reason.
Just me being me. I LOVE to ride. All day. Every day. Any way.

Plus having a new sled is like a new girlfriend.
Tomorrow i'll know how good she is in the sack.
OH. and i'm taking the 600R out also.......LaLaLa
