Okay, you phazer setup gurus...... some help needed
2009 RTX
I put the toilet shims under the skis last night. Went out for a long ride today and noticed that the darting is better, but still there somewhat. Especially on deacceleration..... sometimes on crusing.....rarely on throttle up.
ski spacers are both to the outside.
My limiter strap is pulled one hole tighter.
I rear spring is at "s".
My "clicker" shock is at 10 turns counterclockwise.
I haven't done anything with the spring that has the adjuster coil, it is just the way I got it from the dealer. 3/4 of the way up the threads.
My Fox Shocks are at 75 lbs with the front raised and no weight on the skis.
What do I do now? Are my Fox shocks set to high?
I love the sled, just wish I could dial it in a little better.
Does anyone see anything wrong with these settings or would do something different?
Advice appreciated!

What carbides are you running? 6" StudBoy Shaper bars fixed my darting. I can let off at full throttle the sled tracks straight.

I've fount the minimum setting on the front spring (07 FX with GYTR) lowers the sled and really helps with pressuring the outside ski. I assume you can mimic this by reducing your air pressure? I weigh 180 nude and I'm at the minimum suggested setting, 119 mm.

Have you checked your ski alignment? They should be toed out 1/4 to 1/2 an inch. If they are toed in, they will dart.
Also check your front end bushings. If they are loose, then the effect of your alignment will be even worse.

I put Slydog trail skis on it this winter, which made a huge difference in handling in the corners and in snow. They have 6" shaper bars on them.
I haven't done anything with the "toe". I thought slydogs needed "toe-in" instead of "toe-out" is that still the thinking?
The toe is the way it came from the dealer. I measure it and it is toe out 1/2" right now.
How do I know if I have a lot of slop in the steering? With the sled stopped and I am sitting on the seat, I can move the bars back and forth with about an inch of "play" in them. Is this normal??
With the skis raised off the ground, there is a "slight" amount of wiggle in the skis from side to side...not much though. Is this normal, or should they be "tight" with no slop??
What are other Fox Shock riders using for pressure in their shocks?
Sorry for all the questions, but I am trying to get this thing dialed in before the snow leaves us here in Southwest Wisconsin for the winter and I have been through the archives several times......and well, I'm a little confused on what to adjust at this point.
Anybody with answers to the above questions??

My alignment is out bad enough that i can see it, and darts bad. Could you give a quick explanation on how to adjust it. I know about aligning it with the track and stuff just don't know what to move to make the actual adjustment.

Mine darted so bad then I checked alignment and it took about half away when corrected other half had to fixed with shims at back of the spindle.

You would turn the tierods. Is a lock nut at both ends of both. Will need to loosen those.Outside is right at end of rod inside you can get at by taking the rubber boots and sliding them out.

phazerwi, to check the slop in the suspension, raise the front off the ground, grab the ski loop and pull it forward and back. If the spindles move an inch or so, I'd replace the bushings.
Slydogs generally require toe in, probably due to the flex to these skis.

yamahas, try a search for alignment. There's a good link somewhere on measuring the toe using a sheet of plywood.

I have two Phazer's and as far as darting is concerned there is only one answer, Snowtracker's!!!!! I have the trail version's for my wife and son and they are very confident with them. 0 darting!!!!! I have the aggressive version on my Attak because I need to combat the push from all the stud's. Just make sure you don't have any shim's in with the tracker's, they need the front of the ski to be in the snow to work.

ok so I took a look at the tie rods today to try and adjust the toe...I see the locknuts and loosened them, but when I turn the rod, it just comes out on one end and then screws into the other. How does this make the rod longer or shorter to adjust the toe? Don't I have to take apart the end of the tie rod at the ski where it attaches and then screw it out there make the rod longer, thus creating toe-in??
No.It is actually getting longer or shorter since each tierod has a left hand thread and righthand thread joint. No need to remove the joint or rod.

ok....so, 1 last question on this toe adjustment. I need the rod longer to create toe-in, right?
Which direction is that when you turn the rod?
Will I see more or less threads on the tie rod end that is attached to the ski?
Thank you for guiding me on this!
