In the directions it says to hold on to the stock header gasket because it will be used with the new header but my question is then why does it come with a new gasket? Do I use the stock gasket or the one that comes with the kit? (this is the gasket between the motor and the header not the exhaust flange gasket) If I use the stock gasket do I need to seal it with anything, because when I pulled it off it looked like it had some black silicone on it.

I would use the new one. I have remove the headers in 2 cases and there was small leak in the stock gasket with e Straightline.

Interesting... I did not get a new gasket with my header just a sticker for the beverage fridge

I just installed the header and re-used the gasket. Mine did however come with a gasket.

On another note the bolt holes didn't line up either I had to open them up

No gasket here either. Reused the original gasket.

I got the header gasket and the muffler gasket with mine! Need to install it soon

Mine came without either gasket, just straight line catalog and decal and what gives, some like mine came in raw stainless and some look polished or seem to have some sort of coating, no biggie I only paid $466 for mine on Amazon.

I bought myn through ulmer racing when they where on sale, I wonder if when u buy them through him it comes with the new gaskets? I just thought it was weird that it says to use the old gasket but It comes with a new one.

I also received header from ulmer with new gaskets.

Does anybody know if these "rubber/plastic" gaskets will hold up when running 270+ turbo, or should i re-use the steel OEM one?

I installed my header yesterday and had to Redrill my turbo mounting holes so it would drop down 3/8" or the header would have been way out of alignment . No big deal all good now, there was lots of space under the hurricane turbo. I also made a nice louvered block off plate that seems to suck air out of the header area when the track is spinning. 3 1" louvers almost the width of the hole. Just got carried away and for got pictures. Might open it up again
