Planned a trip of a lifetime...North Bay-Killarny-Searchmont-WAWA-HURST-Cochrane-New Liskard-North Bay Started out awesome but 30 miles North of Dubreville, yellow light came on and the chain case was blown...Towed back to Dubreville...Now the fun part..Closest Yamaha dealer was 5 hrs away north or south...Nowhere to rent a car...My Car was 14 hrs away.Top gear part is back ordered...Ask yourself...What would you do?? Because if theres no fix to this..It will eventually happen to you...

Confused why would the Yellow light come on?? Was your sled over heating at the time as well?

What exacly is blown in your chaincase? Did the chain break? Are gears stripped? Did the Case itself crack?

That sure is crappy, you missed alot of nice riding. I was on a similiar trip last week myself. Trucked to New Liskeard and snowmobiled to Timmins, Chapleau, White River, Manitouwadge, Hornepayne, Hearst, Kap. Cochrane and back to New Liskeard. A total of 1300 miles and all the machines worked great. We were in Dubreville last Tuesday for lunch.
What exactly happened to your sled?

Watching Porn! Canada has soft porn on public TV aftermidnight in Dubreville.
You wtih a ZR900? Passed a GT heading north towards Hornepayne on Sunday about 11:00am
Went thru Dubrdville on Sunday about 12:00. Trails rough for norhtern Canada.
Feel for you. Probally cost $1000 to get your sled back to trailer? Hope Yamaha pays for your charges. Friend had new Cat breakdown in Hearst 2 years ago, and cat did nothing but fix blown engine. Guess what he drives now?
GOOD LUCK!!!

Well I guess the yellow light comes on because without oil in the chain case it gets rather hot..And yes the entire transmission had to be replaced..I ended up having my dealer rip apart a new RTX chain case on the showroom and send it by bus to sault saint marie...I appreciated how fast they were in responding..I then flagged down the train and had my Apex Gt loaded up as well as my friends..The Yamaha dealer in the Sault were AMAZING..Picked my sled up from the train and worked on it the next morning...Was off and running again albeit in a completely different spot around 3pm...
