Stretching to a 136"

What a deal! I tried ot buy it at that price and It wont let me! Must be they are sold out!

Call them direct. I believe the website had it $250 shipped. But they were fixing the website to add shipping. They might be in the middle of doing that.

I have mine stripped down right now waiting for parts and track. I will post some pics soon. Its a project that you should approach with some time on your hands, especially going to 1/5". None of its hard, you just have a lot to take apart, and loosing stuff can be easy. Also, I'm removing the tunnel protectors, so off with the seat and tank and exhaust. I know you can trim the track, but just as soon do it right the first time. I've got a Hartman kit coming and hopefully an Intense.

Well I still cant make up my mind. I have bought rail extensions but still not sure If i want to do it. If I do it, will it affect my handling? I will be running a 6 pitch 136 it I do the swap....

I've got some saddle time on an Attak, and I really can't tell the difference in handling during normal aggressive trail riding. They do hook better.

My update on the 136.....

Last night I tore down my sled.

Gade Thrashers tunnel extension is on, need a few modifications to fit my '07 RTX but looks good.

The rear bumper from mountain performance is for the rx1 and doesnt work.

USA rail extensions are on and went together perfectly.

As for those that have never done it before, you need to removed the gears from the chain case and unbolt the chain case from the frame. The the drive axle falls right out.

Once you remove the set screws on the PTO side bearing. You do end up tearing out a lot on the machine especially in my case where I chose to remove my tunnel protectors.

O ya, I forgot to mention that side. ;)!

With my rear mount turbo on my Rx1 I had to remove one side of the tunnel protectors and reinstall it to get the charge tube in. I feel your pain.

Okay its 10:00 after about 3 hours this morning..I am done! Well except for new hyfax and studs..but I have all summer!

I think you just convinced me to do mine!

skid

I really liked the whole concept of strecthing the skid. I really could not tell the diff in handling. The ride was way better, and would do it again! Honk

Familyman...
You did a really nice clean install job on your conversion, kudos. Your RTX looks great. ;)! I'm doing something similar with mine right now. I'm also using gade-thrashers tunnel extension on my Apex. I think that his extension is hard to beat; quality stuff. I really think the Pro-Active CK skid stretched out to a 136" length is going to be a nice set up.

number1kyster...
You had asked earlier in this thread about a fully clipped 136" track that would allow you to use extrovert drivers. I'm using a Camoplast Freeride track with extrovert drivers on mine. It's a fully clipped 14" wide track with 1.5" lugs. There's various options and opinions on tracks but from my experience with this track on previous sleds it continues to be my choice for a great all purpose 136" track.
