Stretching to a 136"

I did my 06 this past winter and it was night and day over the 121.

I paid about 1k for my whole set up.

Tracks USA 136 rails and 1.5 ripsaw. All windows punched and ordered extra clips too. 680.00 shipped

Hartman tunnel extension 300.00 with powder coating done locally and also express shipping.

I researched all the extentions. Gade Thrashers is heavier material and weights in less then the rest. It doesnt have the "floor board flair" to match the tunnel, but I dont think its needed after the plastic cover for the coolant hose.

Another reason why I went with the gade thrashers extension, it isnt as long. And I didnt want it for a 136-144, I wanted it for a 136.

I think all in all it came out really nice, once I get the full length hyfax on nonone will even notice it.

Familyman, I like the trimming you did on your plastic work covering the crossover tubes. The stock setup calls for the entire piece to wrap around the tailpiece on the shorty, but I noticed you trimmed yours to fit independently on both sides. Also the stocker locks in with the tail light assembly. How did it work out for you. I ask because this is where I'm at currently with my conversion. Jay

I also liked gades extenions but i wanted to go with a 144 so i could put a rack on. He seems to have quality pieces available. I actually like his riser set up he made too. If he made a 144 ext. I would have been on it . It would have saved me 100.00 at least on that part of the swap.

Jay, I trimmed mine off and bolted it on. You can move it a little, but seams like it should be strong enough to hold up.

have any of you thought about making your 121 into a 128, tracks usa sells rail extensions then you could use a quiet artic cat track[ 1.25 ripsaw or a 136 quiet track this get rid of that howl...

I have a 128 kit for sale if your intersted. Its a 128x1-1/4 studded up track with yellow and blue backers all in new condition. Its a stainless steel extension that doesnt weight in at much.

I perfer the 136 over the 128, just mostly for breaking.

The 128 is certainly a viable option if that is the way you want to go. The only cost difference is in the tunnel extension itself. The way I see it is there is negligable/no speed penalty going to 136, but certainly a better ride, and lots more hookup reguardless of the type of track you put under it. The quiet track would work well for that benifit, but I was primarily looking for hookup in freshly groomed/soft snow conditions, that will still run firm groomed trails well. The Intense will fit the bill well. Another great option would be a 136x1.25 Predator with nails up the middle.
