Does anyone have any tips on removing a steering column chrome base plate that the screw just spins?
Thanks in advance.

I think you just force it out, the screw unthreads but will not remove all the way.

Thanks for the suggestion, but no luck.
I basically think the brass female part is just spinning. When I spin the screw it will not come out at all and it makes click and release about every 10 degrees of turn like the teeth that hold the brass part is stripped out.
I really can get underneath the base of the plate to try to hold the brass part so it doesn't spin.
Thanks. I need to take my headlight pod off because one of the side cracked when I laided it on its side last weekend.

Take the headlight pod off and then remove the panel between the speedo and steering column and then you will be able to reach under the chrome plate and grab the brass nut with a vise grips. The other thing you could do is remove the handlebars and handlebar riser and then lift the chrome ring right off.
