Ouch. That picture does solve a previous question though no cores/tubes running on the inside just one big open heat exchanger like grizztracks said.
If insurance won't cover it I'd dig into it a bit and see what all went wrong. Maybe get lucky and be able to fix what you've got.

Yup! it sure did a good job of it, would of been seconds and coolant would of been gone. Still have no idea how the stud managed to do this it went in at the top and didn't come out until it reached the bottom of the exchanger. At the top there's a good distance between it and the track way more then a studs length and same with at the bottom. Then in the on spot it started to go through the other side to.
The track should be tight at the top no way it should of went in there in my opinion. I can see at the bottom do to track deflection. But I guess maybe the perfect timing of applying brake and throttle caused it. My track is tight thought that may have helped out but its tight

You might want to check your track. I suspect you have a stud pulled on a flap.

Ya i already checked the track an know it was a stud ripped on a flap (Just hole now heat exchanger took it out for me )
Still even with the stud ripped like that hard to believe it can reach the top and bottom of the heat exchanger

Like I said before you HIT something in the trail to cause the stud to tear out and then take out your exchanger. With damage like that it doesn't take long at all for all your coolant to be gone and if your were cruising down the trail at 60 to 70 mph the chances of seeing that little warning light before damage was done isn't very likely because you were doing the right thing driving the sled and paying attention to where you were going. Period. Now get your insurance check and get yourself another sled before the season is all done. If totaled take off all your extras cause your not likely to get the money you have into them. Just some advice
