I am debating running a stud in the closed window. I am not sure what length to run on 1.25 ripsaw. Options would be to extrude the track by .25 or .375 or the same depth as track. Not sure if the studs would hit frame rail I think it would get better traction and would carry hyfax with less friction. it would also leave this area closed to retain snow.

Are you serious? If you try that, they will hit the tunnel protectors, have you looked under there?

Why would you do that!!?!?! Not a good idea in my opinion. And I have to agree with KnappAttack, they will hit your tunnel protectors and rip them right off...

what do you think about same depth as track. i was thinking more about friction loss on hyfax. Using the studs similar to hyfax anti-wear pads

Again, not a good idea as the track wears and gives the stud will hit the tunnel protectors. There are plenty of other ways to reduce hyfax wear; 4th wheel kit, ice scrapers, etc..

Nice thought, but it will have the opposite effect -- when the studs bend over under hard acceleration, they will cut into the sliders.

Not true, we use to do this with the FireCats, it was amazing how much trackthing you got.....but our tunnel protectors were in the center
