I'm looking to stud my LTX DX , wow there's so many opinions , Im torn between the 1.345 and 1.5 . and 96 or 144. also who has the best prices on decent studs. I'm not a racer just looking for some traction on icy trails an lakes. I also don't want to lose the trail friendly manners of the sled. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you considered an ice attack xt track? I am just now getting mine installed. I think it gets a lot of the advantages of studs without the disadvantages. I got mine at Tracks USA, and they take the old one in trade.

I haven't really considered a different track , what was the trade in value of your old one if you don't mind me asking ?

About $250, with about 2k miles on it.

The ice attack is pre-studded. Small pin-like studs. They are supposed to wear better than studs, and weigh a lot less. Plus they won't pull out.

I have had great luck with extreme max I believe they were about 1.42 worked great on 1.25 ripsaw in past, pre studded on my Apex were in impressive but better than with out studs when on ice. Loved the round backers never rotated and looked goofy
