Thinking about studding my viper xtx, i know its a tall lug, but traction is king in my book, not only for performance but safety, so my question is with no added protection on the front heat exchanged, should i be worried about this area or am i just being to cautious.
I dont own a viper, but i love to get the most traction at all times to feel the pulling power that these 4-strokes put down.tracks spin crazy down there
and with some studs and no protection
even with protection there is no guarantee

Nytro XTX studs
My son has been running the 152 pattern Woody's mega-bite 1.325" studs in his Nytro XTX since it was new in 2009. No added protection and 5800 miles with no issues at all.
This is the Ripsaw 1.25" track. Best advice for studs...don't spin the crap out of your track and your studs will treat you well. Also, keep them tight and replace bent backer plates when needed. We have 7 sleds in our group and no issues with any of them.
Good luck.
