Studs for the Venom?

Bought a 2021 SX Venom for my son and I'd like to add some studs mainly for safety.
Anyone stud theirs last year? Do they require tunnel protectors? 121" x 1" track

I run 48 in my wife's Venom. Length was 1.18 or 1.175, something trail friendly. No protection needed, exchanger runs in a loop that is outside of stud pattern. 48 work well and if she complains about traction i can always add 48 more. With the 48 it rides like stock but with great traction on ice and hard roads etc. It also really helped braking. These studs also do not push the front end, so running stock carbides for now.
