Hey guys, either my computer sucks or the search on here isn't working right! Please excuse me if this question has been asked before. I have an 07 attack and I am wondering how many studs you recommend installing in the rip saw track. Also, what length, brand, backer etc? I've never riddin on studs with any sled I've ever owned, but had a close call last weekend and am thinking it's about time I get some!

Thanks for the help!

I've offered this to people here before and my answer is always none. If you run alot of miles and have any kind of budget, They get really expensive (i know) my experience and contact with others says any track with over 5,000 miles with picks is on borrowed time! next step: new track about$400 and more picks $3-400. Plus labor and hopefully no popped heat exchanger.NO SMALL JOB as you may know.
Slow down a little when you know its icy and you can be safe! Thousands of snowmobiliers see tomorrow without picks and some that don't had them anyway!

Or go with an IceRipper XT track. That's what I did. Lot safer on ice than nonstudded. WE have a lot of freeze/thaw cycles where I live so unexpected ice in turns is very common. 2 full seasons (2500 miles) on it now & it looks as good as new. For pure safety it is a great buy. Now as a lake racer on ice, it won'y hook up like traditional studs, but I bought it for safety. Very stable on icy corners, parking lots etc.
Bonus is it weighs only 1/2 lb more than a nonstudded track & a lot less than a studded one. I no longer worry about a stud ripping out & causing a big bill. Had that happen on my 03 RX-1, never again! I have told many that it may have been the best upgrade I've ever done.

Depends what you want the studs ro do for you. For safety, run 108 up the middle.Stud length of 1.35-1.45 will work just fine. If you need more traction just add more. You have 54 track windows to install studs in. Keep the studding even/balanced thru out the track. Meaning, 2,3 or 4 studs per window.

108 up the middle.

Woody's Megabytes, 1.325's have worked for me on 4 Ripsaws. No bends and no tearout's.

I use the machined aluminum washers not the cookie cutter's. Not much luck with plastic washers
