After removing the side panels a couple times, The heads on some of the screws/bolts have stripped. I ended up cutting a big slot in 3 of them and put them on the bottom. Anyone else have this problem? I even used a Snap-On screw driver.

Other's will chime in and say that you need a #3 bit. I tried one and didn't like how it fit. I've since found a standard #2 with the tip ground slightly flat works perfect. Haven't stripped one since doing this. Hope I helped ya'!!

There is a post in here somwhere that I posted about the same thing last year.

Long story short, I purchased some regular bolts (octagon head) which I believe were off a Phazer?

Sorry, I don't remember the part numbers or who even told me about doing it, but it does work great! ;)!
(I'll see if I can find it?)

Good point Irv. My 2011 Apex XTV has hex head bolts along the bottom edge of the side covers. Should be a readily available part!!

After stripping a couple with the impact driver I only use hand power now. For the hard ones push down on the butt of the screw driver as hard as you can making sure that it is dead straight and use the other hand to turn. I stopped using Loctite on these as they never seem to be loose when you go to remove them.

If you use the driver provided in the stock tool kit it fits the screws perfectly and does not strip them.

You've posted this twice now.......just wait until you have arthritis in your fingers and then recommend that sh**..........i.e. some of us need something we can actually grip....
