2008 Nytro MTX - 1800 miles.
So I finally got bit by the bent front end today. I hit some sort of solid, non-forgiving object underneath the snow, I did not see what it was. The impact was on the left ski It flipped the sled uphill and onto the right side. I was not going fast, rather boondocking uphill off camber a bit.
The left ski was 3" behind the right. The spring impacted and dented slightly the rearward portion of the upper a-arm. Stock 2008 bs shocks/springs/swaybar.
I used a long steel bar in an attempt to pry everything back into shape, but I've only managed to move the left ski up 1". I will admit, the top a-arm now looks as it has for at least a couple of years, and I do bounce off things from time to time but not with this kind of intensity, so there is a possibility that the skis are where they've been and I just hadn't paid attention. I don't use them too much.
I can take pictures tomorrow evening. The left spindle is like 10 degrees whereas the right is 30 perhaps. It's a dramatic difference. It's a bummer.
Any way to determine subframe vs. lower a-arm? I searched (and read) a lot but didn't find a way to readily distinguish.

How is the angle on your spindles compared to mine?

I read your thread, my left spindle is more like 10 degrees positive whereas your right was rotated backwards say 20 degrees more than mine at the lower a-arm attachment point.
You just pulled yours back into place and all was well? Has it remained so? Why did you choose to lift the sled off the table to do the repair?
Yeah, I feel lucky all in all that it's taken 4 seasons to do this kind of damage, but at the same time I hardly ride the thing...

I lifted it up on a workbench where i could get it tied down enough to stretch it back.
I pulled mine back in to place, that is correct. If everything is well - I dont know. The Arms are back where they should be, the right spindle is almost stretched back to normal. but the subframe is still bent - and the left spindle is pointing like it does on the pics.
I'm gonna test it in the mountains on new years eve, hopefully it is driveable..

I think I've got the left side back into place, and I'm realizing that the right side was also skewed forward during the impact. I couldn't twist the left spindle any more, as it was tethered to a telephone pole at the top of of the spindle and to the bumper of my truck at the bottom of the spindle. I gave the sled several good yanks, which had it up in the air, and there was definite movement of the spindle, causing the left ski to move forward to where they're now within 1" of each other. They both track straight (somehow).
The sled seems to ride fine around the neighborhood, and I'll give it a whirl on the hill in a couple of days.
The non-impact side on mine (right) now has the lower a-arm in direct contact with the spindle, and i had been paying attention to the lower ball joints. There was a gap previously.
I'm thinking next spring subframe and zbros a-arms/spindles.

I did the same thing you did two weeks ago. Looked at the A-frames for two days trying to figure it out.Subframe is twisted. $500, about 4hrs wrenching.

That's the same thing as I did. Yanked the right side spindle, causing the ski to move forward. The left side spindle is still bent forward and the skis is about 1-2" from each other. I'll test it on new years eve...
My subframe is bent, and the spindle is straightened. But after reading around this forum I am going to replace to spindle before riding the sled again.
Do you have any pics of your sled now? So i can compare it to mine?

I have had the opportunity to ride mine twice since bending it back (some) and it seems to ride fine, so it may be bent, but it ain't broke, and I'm not gonna fix it until summer.
Zz-bros and new subframe next summer. Gotta buy motorcycle parts over the winter...
