I was impressed enough to purchase one for myself this winter. We dynoed John Wheelocks at 232 last yr. at 9 lbs. Same dyno my Powderlites front mount went at 259 at 12 lbs. Of course that was with head shim. Never liked the blowoff valve for flatland use on that system. The MPI has sooooo much on the bottom it is very touchy with the the throttle. No lag and easy to install with out heat issues, also like the fact the filter is up front. I think you'd like it! I would also like to try CPR's new front mount package. Jeff's turbo packages have always been so good for us flatlanders! Still waitin for snow here. Mike Knapp#17

I love mine for flat land. Honestly they have less then zero lag. Think about hitting the throttle and your skis are hanging in the air heading into the next turn. Simple install which I really like turn your sled back to stock any time you want. No major chassis mods no engine mods etc just bolt on no heat issues no worrying about leaks etc... IE oil and coolant lines for the turbo. Stock exhaust system is quiet so you have a sleeper. The only real draw back from a SC is limitations for HP and not turning the boost down for bad fuel.

did a a couple hundred miles this weekend in cadillac! Supercharger ran great! Only problem after the long summer was my O2 sensor flatlined today. Maybe these bosch units are only good for one season.

I see you have both! Rx1 Bender and Apex S.C. What do you like better? What is faster in a drag race?
P.S. Thank you guys

I can see where this is going, you better just stick with the turbo's Skydog, get a really big one, the really big turbo's, are really fast. What is faster in a drag race?

I've had the rx1 turbo since 2003 summer and the supercharged apex since january last season. I love both sleds. The turbo feels alot faster since it has that rubberband throttle coming on boost like it's pissed off at you for squeezing the trigger and trying to throw you off. the MPI is completely linear, very fast but sneaky about it. I did some lake runs switching sleds with drivers last winter and found the turbo was quicker and faster at 8 lbs then the mpi at 10. and there was no comparison at high boost of 15 on the turbo. On the other hand there is no comparison for immediate throttle response on the supercharger. I haven't turned the MPI up yet since I'm still waiting for a suitable durable trailable fuel system upgrade.
turbo was quicker and faster at 8 lbs then the mpi at 10?
Well that kind of sucks, my Rx1 at 8 was boring need to be a 12psi at least to be happy.

I drove a Turbo sled and it was fast, but too smooth for my liking. I would think a supercharger would come on much harder, especially in the lower RPM's.

That's a fine looking sled you got there on E-Bay. After reading your description I was just wondering where you got that cast iron sleeved engine because as far as I know all rx1's came with a straight aluminum block with nicasiled cylinders. My 03 has the nicasil cylinders , as I had to send the block to Millenium to get one redone, Ken.
Here's a graphical representation I made up of two known dyno runs... Max-Power is not the focus here, how the boost curves are different is what I'm trying to represent... Sometimes the "opinions" and jumbles of numbers out there confuse people... This graphical representation should help most people get a handle on how they are different.

(Pump gas, No shims, Heat soaked run, Capable of much more power but that’s not the point here)

another year of problems for me
went to revelstoke last weekend, lightened up the clutch primary to bring the revs up, it worked on the trail but up on the hill went down to 6-7lbs boost, then my fuel controller got wet and the day was over.
The supercharger thing is done for me!
I watch countless people install turbos and play a little with the clutching and off they go, I rode with another s/c this weekend as well, he is very disappointed too
Going to call Al tomorrow and ask for my money back.....
oh and by the way its now 1 yr that I have been waiting for my stage 2 pullies!!!!!!!!!!!!
If your looking for an opinion on a supercharger, THEY SUCK!
sorry but right now Im in no mood

Sad you had bad experience really. Mine works so well you would have to pry it out of my cold dead hands.
