Other then the weather too. hahaha

I basically have two people I ride with, my Dad and one of my friends.

So far, every time each one has taken out their sled it's been delivered to the shop the next day.

Dad: 2002 SkiDoo Legend 800 SE
Bought sled this year, dealer claimed to have serviced.

1st ride: Running hot, high idle, catastrophic backfire. Took it to a reputable dealer. Found it was never serviced, multiple problems.
2nd ride: 4km's overheated, shutdown. Coolant pouring everywhere. Back to dealer.
3rd ride: Temp gauge stops working, then sled just shuts down. (Electrical issue, found and fixed ourselves.
4th ride: Taking a turn on the lake, ski caught a small ridge and rolled the sled. Dad was fine, $300 in plastics to replace. Currently waiting on delivery.

Friend: 200? Arctic Cat Pantera 800
2nd year with sled.

1st ride: Strange noise from skid. Dealer screwed something up on the skid when installing a new track. Easily fixed but ruined weekend.
2nd ride: He hit a rock, bent 2 a-arms. Weekend ruined again.
3rd ride: Sled is overheating, exchangers not getting warm. Currently in shop. Another weekend ruined.

Me: 2003 Yamaha RX1
First year with sled.

400+ trouble free Kilometer's so far. (most of them solo...)

I learned long ago never to laugh at a buddies mis-fortune. Pull your buddie out of the rhubarb in the morning and laugh at him, he-ll be pulling you out in th afternoon. Same goes for breakdowns. Towed my buddies 800R last year 40 miles. This year, major melt down and towed him 50 miles, but you won't see me laughing or complaining as I'm likely to be next if I do, even on a Yami! Hope you luck improves and find some wood to knock on!

Maybe you need new buddies!! I know, I'm not funny. All sleds will fail at some point.

Dealer servicing is often used as a selling point but you have learned and I have proven that it often means squat! When my sled was under warranty I had it checked (serviced?) by the dealer and when I got it home I had the frontend jacked up for some reason and found the lower balljoints were shot. I asked him why it wasn't checked and he said we don't get into that level of stuff or some such jargon. So I have lost confidence in dealer servicing as it basically means checking the belt, greasing and a oil change.

i am a looser to. i feel for you, first ride lost 6 studs out of a new track woodys is willing to help camoplast told me to stick it last weekend cracked a plastic ski were the loop mount if its not one thing its another F.M.L.
