Sway Bar removal and reinstall

Looking to remove my sway bar to either change bushings or clean and lube to stop squeak that was there last year. When you remove the screw, covers and bushing is the bar under any pressure or will it stay in place?

No pressure at all, not sure if your ever going to get rid of that squeak, I've tried many different lubes and even plain greese, work's for a few rides and them back to its old squeaky self. I finally #*$&@ canned my swaybar but i went with a 38" front end too.

Mine broke last year and I changed it myself when the dealer provided it under warranty to me as they were too busy to get it done in time. Takes some twisting and turning to get it in or out from the left side only.

Thanks for the info, I’m only going as far a removing the covers and seeing what I find with the bushings, clean and try some kind of low temp lube. Anybody use something that has worked over time??

I too just mark that down as one of the things I give a quick shot of spray lube to after every few rides.

i took mine out for squeaks...turns out it was my outer tie rod ends and still squeaked lol

didnt find out it was tie rods till end of season so havent tried anything yet.....anyone who pulls the sway bar beware of major body roll change i ended up lying it over on the road last year with my sway bar out and it cost me a bunch of money in cosmetic damage...after 5800 miles with the bar in i wasnt prepared to the difference with it out

I shoot mine with Maxima chain Lube. The waxy stuff. Seems to last awhile.

Yup I use a klotz chain lube on mine, same with tie rod ends.
