My T.P.S shows 0.68 with throttle close and 3.83 at w.o.t with a change from 1.06 to 4.21 at w.o.t I had to set my rpm back to 1400 rpm with this change. The only thing when I hit the trottle it goes up and stops down to 2100 rpm s for a few seconds then back to 1400 rpm s .I tryed it three times setting it back to my first t.p.s setting and it was fine. Why does it do this with the change ,is it normal ?Went racing today with my ecp kit and heavy hitters .Went back to stock gearing 24/38 from 20/38 on a 1000ft run.I remove the 7/16 from the mid and tip and put the 3/8 steel in mid and tip and 1/4 and 3/4 in hole number 1.It now goes to 10000 to 10200 in 50 ft.Before this every 700 out their would beat me very bad.To day was so different with this setup ,never got beat once by a 700 0r a 800 class ,the only thing I could say is wow.I should have put my t.p.s back to see if it made a difference.

Blue Shadow,
Had the same thing happen on my MTN sled) high idle/than drop back in rpm) Didn't change clutch kit, have HH's, but did run 10,100, now 10,500. However, top speed on speedo was 110, now 83mph. Will do some more testing. Keep us posted, Thanks 4-Play.

Speed Loss
Speed Loss turned out to be bad belt. Through max weight at the 1st hole(HH's) still pull 10,500 all the way up. COOOOOOOOOOL. May add alittle more to the 2nd hole. 4-Play.

tps
ajusted tps and lost speed big time on both my sled and my riding partners. after ajusting we could not even pull 110 mph on hard pack and moter temps went up. before we both could pull 110 on radar in about 2in of slop with no cooling trouble. with advaced tps they ran kind of funny both would pull 10500-10700 but no speed plugs looked lean changed them both back and we have not run them yet

Advanced mine to 1.07,4.08 and did really notice an increase in midrange. But overheated at 0 F on trails. Never overheated previously in much worse conditions. Also the Rpms hit the wall at about 10,400 to 10,500 and would not rev anymore. I have a shallow helix for the trail and I need a little over-rev for best top speed on lakes. I will be turning it back this week.

Ok, I'm a little confused with what to think here. Blue Shadow, did you feel you had better results with your TPS advanced to 1.06 or back at stock?
I'm beginning to wonder if perhaps a mid position like .85-.90 might be the best compromise between stock and advanced. You'd get a slightly better bottom end and not lose as much from the top end. What do you guys think? PB

Sounds like a good exercise for a stalker test session.

Now you're talking! Of course we all want the best of both worlds. Sure we want to accelerate harder than stock but we also want to be able to pull a topend at least a very comparible to what we saw with the TPS in the stock position.
Hell, now I wonder if guys doing radar runs or top speed only wouldn't benefit from moving the TPS in the other direction (down to .5 or .6)? PB

Hey Power blue,I did have better results in a 1000 ft run with my tps at 1.06 ,the f-7 always got me in the midrange .I stayed with him all the way.He has many things done that no other f-7 can run him down.I will try setting my tps back to .85-.90 to see if there is a difference in mid range. Now that I have drill a hole in front of the second screw were you can t get at ,it will only take a second to change.Next time I will try moving it down to see what happends.

Blue shadow, did you run the F-7 again with you TPS back at stock? I hate to see this subject die. I think it holds an awful lot of promise. PB

Well, this past weekend I went up hill racing at marble mountain. There was a total of 135 snowmobiles with 2 rx1.I entered the 700 stock ,700 improve ,and 800 stock.I set my tps at 1.07 for the first run in the 700 stock class. There was 4 lanes and one other rx1 was call at the starting line. The 3 revs kept ahead all the way to the end of this rx1.When I was call,I line up with a f7 ,700 pol,and a rev. They pull me of the line by 2 sleds and I caught up and past them in 500 ft by 3 sleds ,then my power died off and they past me .I change my tps back to .73 for the 700 improve ,this made biger top end and got me allmost to the finals. Now I know the tps is only good for about 500 ft set at 1.07
