Hey, looking to get a bigger windshield, and thinking the mid is not quite big enough. Anyone have a tall installed? If so any pics? Also, I understand there are rods that get installed?

i have a tall yammi windshield that is ok, i only used it one trip and i liked it but, you don't get a "feel" for the speed you are doing and, you HAVE to have the supports installed. it never quite fit like the stock mid around the headlights either, i took it off Monday and put the stock mid back on, the tall one reminded me of the CHIPS motorcycle windshield setup...LOL
it deffinately helped keep me warmer though.

Thoses rods don't interfere with anything except maybe a handle bar bag??? and hand guards??? (don't have them). Otherwise, it's 250% warmer than the stock shield. Apparently, racers at the Soo I-500 don't seem to care about loss of speed or aesthetics either.

I put the tall one with the supports. It looked dorky but I was going to keep it until I closed the cover on my trailer and broke it! I then replaced the stock Attak windshield with the Yamaha mid height and it is way better than stock. Hands are a little warmer but the wind now hits my face instead of my chest. Big improvement and looks better than the tall.

Has anyone tried the cobra powermad windshields?
I always used them on my old doo's and liked them.

I put on the tallest windshield that Yamaha offered without the support rods. It is roughly 2 inches taller than the one that came stock on my buddy's '07 Attak GT.
I love it.

you need the support bars or you will end up replacing your light pods ! the tall windshield put's a LOT of strain on the pod, at any speed above 35
just an FYI

I have the Cobra/PowerMadd. No supports, stands up no problem without folding at triple didgets. I love it.

I got the tall cobra, It is a million times better than the stock mid height and you don't need support brackets. It doesn't bend at 100mph. I am very happy with it. I think if you have hand gaurd they would hit it when turning. It doesn't look bad but not as good as the mid height. I had a post on it and sombody posted a picture. If you do a search you will find it.

I have the Cobra tall on my Apex. It works great. I have Sportech handgaurds and they touch a little at full stop. I ran 1500 miles with it, GPS recorded 107 with no signs of bending.

Cobra here too. No more wind on the chest/nect/hands. No bending. No support brackets or rods.
