I am working on a project and I am wondering if anyone has experience running a team roller secondary on a turbo sled in the mountains? Of course I emailed TEAM And they said yeah they work, but i want to know of real work experience. What helix angle, and spring, etc.

I am putting my tvector motor in my skidoo rev chassis and don't want to have a new jackshaft made for the yamaha clutch. I have been able to find team helixs for pretty good price and I am not worried about it needing to run at 8500 rpm perfectly spot on all the time. I bought a shockwave helix last fall and I only changed it once and never in the field and never was down or up on rpms enough to really notice to much for my type of riding.

So what helixes should I try to pick up this summer for the team?

They make one that is adjustable for a straight 44 or a straight 48 on it. The 48 backshifts quicker, but might be harder on belts. I had a team on my rmi driven Trx-1 and it was tough on belts, but I had to run a long skidoo belt. I couldn't figure out how the keep it from slipping and getting really hot. I would honestly just run the stock yamaha secondary I think rollers are over reactive on four strokes. Just my .02.

I do run a roller on my rx1 mountain on boost, 42 degree roller HCX

no slipping problem.

just need to squeeze that belt enough!

I have a HCX cover/coversion I would sell pretty cheap. $100 to whom ever wants it. Plus shipping of course. It comes with roller cover, helix and 3 springs I believe.

In my world of clutching a shallower helix is always backshifting faster than a steeper one, just my 2 cents :-) I have been waterskipping a lot and found a 43 straight on Yami secondary to take the load pretty well. I side with mulot30th on the 43 and 45 straight.

Sorry but I have no knowledge on the Fast roller secondary.
