Temp Light

this is what i do, do not hit the gas until the red light is off, and i wait a few more minutes for the rpm's to drop from 2600-2400 to around 2000-1800, you will be sure your lubricating and cooling system is warm and oil is moving thru out the engine, and you will never foul a plug or worse score a cyclinder.
This!!!

My sled was used and I lost the crank bearings. When they dissasembled the engine the cylinders were scored in 4 places each. They said it was from the previous owner driving it cold. Even after it warms up as RIGIDONE says I always drive it nice and easy for 5-10 minutes.

eeekkk....see guys, dont be in a hurry with ur 4stroke...i installed a temp gauge,.. i dont move the sled till it hits 130-140deg... take a quart of oil and throw it in ur freezer for an hour,... thick as tar...

So if I buy the temp gauge, you wanna install it for me? Syracuse road trip of 45 miles! :-o "Beverages" on me? ;)!

I ran mine tonight till the idle dropped to around 1780 rpm, took about 4 minutes or so and the pipe was warm. I didn't see any lights on either.

I will also be installing a temp gauge before the season. I got the T for the coolant line from Ulmers and a ProSport guage (I needed metric). I will either use a handlebar mount or mount it to the windshield brackets using a RAM mount.

I will post pics once its done.
