I dont know but mr sleds review stated that the top end of the xtx was impressive and no one felt it lacked any versus the short tracks. I know my friends revs with are both 600sdis but 1 renegade and one shorty have the exact same speed on top end but if fro a dead start the renegade pulls away. Keep in mind that the shorty is a 1 inch predator and the renegade is 16x136 ripsaw??? who knows, stranger things have happened.

An S.E. for me. If it came down to it you could get Ulmers 144" 6* tipped rails (assuming he is going to offer them) and then you have an FX. Nytro RTX. S.E. X.T.X. Mmmmm too many letters but I could live with that.

I would like to get the XTX but concerned with the small gas tank, exhaust limiting storage bag behind the seat and no wind protection.
I rode a 09 Ski Doo T'nt 600 and it got 24 MPG, had wind protection and storage space. It ran exactly the same on top end with my 02 SRX. It just did not have the fun factor of the SRX motor. Little track spin, quick rev motor. How ever when I add it all up I am leaning towards the doo, first time since 1969. Weight is also 110 lbs less.
As fuel prices rise we have fewer gas stops on the trail, too many rip offs not paying kill the small guys. The doo will get at least 225 to 250 miles / tank, the Nytro maybe only 110?
Any one have a picture of a Nytro with a tall windshield installed?
Fun factor of the Nytro motor and 144 is the biggest + for me going Nytro.

Gas Mileage
I wouldn't worry about the gas mileage, Amsnow has written in their spring 08 issue real world testing has the TNT at 14.7mpg and the Nytro at 15.3. I just got done watching Sno Tracks and Jeff Steenbakkers basically had the same gas mileage results, plus he had the shift in there at 11-12 mpg. I've seen the Nytro with the medium windshield on and it looks really good! I thought I had a picture of one but couldn't find it. In the end, you need to buy what you want, not what other people want you to buy or you will always bitch about the littlest things that go wrong! And I have yet to see any 600 run with an SRX, 800's have trouble hanging with them, I've even seen Apex's get pulled on top by good running SRX's
Peace Out ;-)

I now see that he was talking about the 09, sorry about that, but in my opinion it's not going to get 24 but it still should get about 20 if it's all that they say. I also can't see it running the same top end as any SRX, even a bad one. Just my opinion.
Who's buying Nytro's, which one and why?

Each Ski Doo dealer got at least one e-tec 600 T'nt about 6 weeks ago. My friend bought one and he has at least 400 miles on it. It does infact get 24 to 25 mpg.....
It weighs 400 lbs, has wind protection, great range, handles great and takes the bumps. It is right there with the 02 SRX even the lake and blows it away on the trail with ride quality.
The XTX seems to have the motor and ride, sounds like it handles better for 09 but for me it needs wind protection, more range and it would be nice to be able to use the extended tunnel for storage.
Yamaha needs to offer the Nytro in a ditch banger and a ride-able sport style with a windshield and larger tank. Why pay all that cash then scrap the tank and windshield for aftermarket stuff. Tank $375, windshield $80. Just can not see strap on tanks either....come on, thats nuts to have to do to a new sled.
The only real thing keeping me from going Doo is the hard pulling motor of the NYTRO, that's the real fun part of the whole deal. I wish I had the chance to ride the XTX. Tuff to put down the big cash with out the test ride. So will keep reading the posts offered by those who do.

I rode a 08 TNT and to me it did feel like SRX handling wise.Thats a good thing. But it didnt have anywhere near the power or speed of my SRX.As a matter of fact it might barely get by my Phazer(no lake racer!).Funny thing was my Phazer said 80mph but the TNT said 90mph but Phazer was in front whole time on river even after I called guy out on why it was so slow.If this new TNT does 100mph which SRX will do just about anywhere there are going to be alot of 08 TNT owners wondering whats wrong with thier sleds.IF.

Well......since I have many miles on both selds I feel i can add something.
E-tec while quick is not the same feeling as the Nytro, in a drag race the Nytro would only win by a bit but somehow feels way stronger.
Nytro vs E-tec milage......while my Nytro is the best of all the sleds I ride with and better than every SDI.....its is about the same or even falls just behind the E-tec.......props to e-tec. Although the e-tec in our group brings up the rear, not the sled, slower rider.
As far as wind protection......I don't get this, I have friends with XP and E-tec.......when we hit the lake on cold days they want my sled.........not because its fast. My Nytro is a much much warmer sled.......although, I have the tall windshield...still think the Nytro is warmer, she's fat eh.
The 08 Nytro works really well if your willing to do a little/lot of tunning to get it set up to your liking....(some people have lower expectations and are done and set up after 15 minutes, good for them) The XP is pretty good out of the box, not as good as my Nytro after its dialed......not a fair comp I know, so give the props to E-tec for out for the box handling for sure.
I agree with you......you will need to spend the extra $400-500 to get the sled Yamaha should have built.......having to add the fuel tank is kinda crazy IMO.
cheers, BK

Always. stock for stock engine for engine. A longer track sled, even slightly longer, will be out run by it's shorter counterpart. Track lug height also plays a roll. Less rotating mass.
Also, longer track sleds like the renegade are geared lower to handle the snow and heavier track. Which also plays a part in the top speed.
Of course I'm talking on hard pack, a bit of snow and the tables turn very quickly.
Even just 4or5 inches on top of hard pack a renegade might get the advantage for top speed just on flotation alone.

e-tec
e-tecs running with Nytros?? The Nytro's dynoing 140+ while the e-tec is struggling to hit the claimed 116 mark Ski-Doo advertises it at. Considering the SDI's are getting mid 120's the e-tec doesn't look that impressive on paper. I know dyno's don't always tell the whole story, but we're talking close to 30 hp here. In snogoers true world test, the nytro was less than a tenth behind the 800r in the 1/4.
