I generally don't "editorialize" about stuff on my computer. There's a lot of chatter because Yamaha is fiddling around with their marketing strategy, re:snowmobiles. I loved my Vector, EPS AND ENGINE. This year I totaled it. Now I'm faced with
1. used
2. new Vector with strange suspension
3. Yamacat
4. Ski Doo
The thing is.... they're all snowmobiles and that's what I like....SNOWMOBILES. I can wish all I want, but bottom line is...Look at the market and decide what's there....not what I think maybe would or could be there. Hell, I'm 76. I can't wait for some 'dream to come true'".
I do, (no pun intended) really dig this forum. It's been a great help in enabling me to really enjoy this fantastic winter sport.

ROCKY
76, that's Awesome Rocky!! My dad hung it up at 76, he's now 81 but still loves to reminisce about sleds. He could still ride IMHO but just doesn't like the cold as much anymore. He rode pretty hard right to the end too and I think he was worried about taking a flop and he wouldn't recover.
You mentioned the Vector with newer skid. I do know Nick Keller. When he parked his world record mileage Vector, Yamaha gave him a new Vector with the new SS rear skid and Fox Float. He hated it and had that skid taken out and a CK version put in it like he had before. Not trying to start any arguments on that subject but just relaying what he did.
Not telling you what direction and I don't know how you ride but I could see you liking the ride of the Viper (YamaCat). They do take the bumps very well. If I had a Ski Doo it would have to be a 4 stroke model. No way I'd go back and their 2 stroke E-Tec's have a long history of blowing up.
