Sled looks real good!! NyTrO

SO the trick was putting the lever over the top of the gears?

Skis are sweet!

YOU went with the 121x1.5x15 Intense track?

Did you get a pic of how close it is to the stud protectors at the heat exchanger?

Thanks Jeff, I'm happy with it now that it's done, or is it....

Trick to aligning up the reverse fork was trial and error for me, after Allan recommended I shift the upper shaft back and forth, it allowed the gears to align better which in turn allowed full function of the reverse lever. I was probably doing it right everytime, I knew I was close, I just couldn't get full shift from reverse to forward, so the gear alignment helped a lot.

As for the track, I went with the Intense 121 x 15 x 1.5 , clipped every third and every third window open. Listed weight is 36 lbs, so it shouldn't affect the sled negatively at all in that respect, pure increase in performance is the result, feels like a true 20 hp in the seat of your pants, but we all know how the ol butt dyno works ! I don't expect to notice much loss in top end either, maybe 2-3 mph from what I noticed with this track on my last sled, which was no noticeable loss, just incredible gains ! I'm not big on top speed anyway, I need low and mid range for all around riding. Anyway, I removed the front exchanger protectors to allow clearance for the taller lug. I used my trusted dremel tool to get into the small area, took some time, about 20 cutting discs (which ended up requiring a trip to the hardware store for supplies) , patience, and a little prying along with some TLC so not to cut into the exchanger itself, and now there's room for a 2"er I'm sure. I'm thinking strongly about heading to the Highlands tomorrow now that we have good snow up top, so I'll report back tomorrow night with the results, I'm sure they'll be good ! ;)!

Thanks gormleyflyer2002, appreciate the feedback ! ;)!

Just by looking at the skis, the biggest difference you notice (aside from the wild colors) is the added width. The skis are WIDE, I can't see anyone other than a mtn rider needing anymore width than these. Floatation is going to improve BIG TIME ! Handling is more precise with the Slydogs. It turns quicker and steering response feels lighter, probably due to floatation and the design of the ski's keel underneath (which is totally wild), not to mention I'm now on 6 inch carbies. Personally, I went with the Race ski because they are 6 inches thick and wide, and stronger than their Trail ski, and I needed to make sure I wouldn't break them, which I have done before on my previous OEM equipped sleds. If you want added floatation and strength, the Race ski is the one to choose. Hope this helps ;)!

The 1.5 must be really close to the protectors. I have a 1.75 track on mine and needed to take them off. The ones in the top of the tunnel was grinded down and the luggs still touch them. Im going to remove them completely.
I hope there will be no problem with taking them out since the MTX dosent have them at all.

I removed the front heat exchanger protectors right away, wouldn't even consider leaving them in with the 1.5 track. Tested the sled out today in 4-6 feet of powder, and man oh man, what a ride !!! This sled carves awesome in the deep, almost too easy to flick around, pretty near lost it on one of the trails when I was carving on the untouched snow ! The running boards collected a lot of snow on them, but they're wide and huge, and I expected it after a day like today anyway. The Intense track was a HUGE improvement over the stocker, I was giggling inside my helmet all day from the ride ! I wore a different pair of Yamaha boots today, and my left boot got wet, again. I bottomed the rear suspension a few times, so it's now time to do some adjustments. Overall, VERY impressed with the sled, and it's going to be one VERY fun year !!! ;)!

I'll post some pics later, time to relax...

Im glad that you are happy with the sled! Im really exited to, it is so fun off trail with a real track on!
Btw what do you think about the slydogs?
Mine is pushing alot in the corners. I hope it can be solved with some shims on the front of the ski.

Only a few pics from yesterday, too cold and story out to take many, but what a day !!!
