Hi guys,
Basically I'm looking to take my SC apex and get some time on it over the summer, and of course more use. I have a nice speed/drag package on it for snow with a hacksaw track, 240 studs, and 10T drivers but I am going to swap that out for my previous set up because it works better for the ditches and stuff. Instead of selling my stuff cheap to get rid of it I thought about grass drags.
My questions are could I even be competitive with basically a pump gas, shimmed 240hp apex on a studded snow track and stock suspension or would I just get blown away by the other open mod sleds that breath this every weekend of the summer? I'm just an amature and would like to get time on the sled but not wreck it and not come in last every time I go somewhere.
Anybody that has been around grass drags can you give me your input on if I could/should enter my sled? Do you use stock suspensions, snow tracks, etc etc?
Thanks!

Could run it in the King of the Trail class at HayDays?

Keep your trail sled off the grass. I speak from experience. The Grass is very hard on sleds. You don't want to put your trail sled out there

What gets wrecked in the drags? I dont see it being the easiest on anything thats for sure. I still have my ZX2 so if it wrecks the suspension I got options, what else will it ruin?
Thanks guys!

Everything gets VERY dirty....EVERYTHING!!
Racing once or twice with your buddies in a field is fun and you're not going to ruin anything. If you want to be competitive you need to go see a race and see the level of commitment you're going to need. It's a full time job just keeping the sleds clean (trust me that's my job

I would say go to a local grass drag and have some fun. I'm sure you will do ok. I wouldn't suggest Haydays cause you will run into some of the top runners. that may get you a little discouraged. I't not that hard on things, it all depends how
you are about your machine. if you spend a couple of hours a week cleaning it then grass may not be for you but if you do snow drags then you will have a blast on grass. slam her down, gear her down and hang on.
