I have been looking at some after market electric power steering units and thinking of moding one into the old RX1. With the turbo things are tight under the hood but it may just fit. Will have to do some more home work and would really like to hold the unit in my hands so I can get the real feel for if I can make it fit, I was thinking of just the unit and not the whole steering post with attached unit, like they sell for the ATVs. Might be able to fit it in the right side of the U box and use modified tie rods from steering stem to unit and from unit to linkage.
Wanted to see what you all think...
I know the plan is to loose weight but if it makes it feel lighter while riding it may be worth the weight. looks like adding 12-13 lbs.

I am interested in the same thing for my 06 Apex. I already have the super charger adn timbersled plus other parts and it would sure be nice to have easier steering. Are you looking at the Yamaha EPS or something aftermarket?
